Currently based in Charleston, South Carolina, Yoga for the People’s mission is to bring a life of Yoga to as many people as possible.  I specialize in assisting individuals develop a  personal practice that enhances not only Self Awareness and Compassion  but also Awareness and Compassion for  All Beings.  It is imperative that your practice of Yoga should be tailored to your specific needs.  We have been Blesssed with the Gift of  Listening which allows us  to Explore Our Selves in order to find our Unique Paths, Each of Great Importance.  The possibilities are Limitless. The Growth Potential is VAST no matter who you are or what the current conditions of your mind, body and spirit are.  A regular practice of Yoga Will Inevitably Transform Your Life and assist you in meeting your Highest Purpose and Potential.

Being able to help others create their own Yoga practice is a Pure Pleasure and Honor to me, and for these reasons among others I have a Special Love for teaching Private lessons.  In this world full of distractions, stress and constant change it is vital to maintain a Balanced and Stable state of mind supported by a healthy body so That We May Enjoy and Appreciate Life as it were intended. Furthermore, when We  Choose to Exist This Way We Are able to Support and Uplift Those Around Us.  The Goal is to spread as much Awareness,  Strength,  Joy, Love and Happiness as possible!

In addition to private instruction for both individuals and groups, I maintain a regular schedule of public group classes and offer group destination classes as well.  I am  certified to teach Hatha Yoga which is comprised of Meditation, the Asanas (the yoga poses) and Pranayama (breath work).  I am currently teaching in Charleston, SC and the surrounding areas.  I am entirely dedicated to a life of Service to Mother Earth and to All of My Fellow Beings.  I am Eager to Share! I hold Great Admiration for the Wisdom that Each of You Carries.  I look forward to being not only your teacher, but also your student.

Who Are We to Judge?

January 12th, 2012 by Lindsay

There is no doubt about it:  Absolutely everything is energy.  The aspect that defines or shapes the energy is of course, the rate at which the being, object or space vibrates.  The speed spectrum is vast, but very basically:   Positive vibrations move at a High speed>>>at their Most High these manifestations seem to Be Perfectly Still.  In the Stillness there are no imperfections:  Just Being.

Conversely, vibrations that are low and slow>>> Lagging Behind , like South Carolina’s education system and any and all other systems, institutions or ways of Being that impede the PROGRESSion of our species and how it Protects and Honors it’s own livelihood so that it may Protect and Honor Mother Earth which is Absolutely Positively the Most Sense Making Way of Life because:

It is by the Creation and Sustenation of Father Sun and Mother Earth that Humans are able to Exist and Give Birth to Bodies, Spirits, Fire,  and Music; to create a world and gestate institutions that degrade and misuse it.   Humans have given birth, life, power and Soul to money and other tools.  Humans have created war from self righteous seeds: we have justified being a race of cold blooded power hungry killers.  I stood for much time  passing judgement, disappointed in what we had become.

It was not until I was brave enough to examine my own anger, resentment and frustrations that I began to see with more compassion and less judgement.  Soon after I began my releasing and reflection process.  Eventually, the Truth drop kicked me and I realized that spending time and energy on passing judgement was essentially useless and the only place it mattered was in my distracted head.   Who the hell am I to judge?  Am I so egotistical that I believe that perfectly good time and energy  should be wasted on passing   judgements of a world that was created by a Being far more powerful and intelligent than any human being could ever be?

NO!  The only things we need to be Passing is LOVE, which in it’s Purest form is not gas but a vibration so rapid that it is nearly impossible to concieve.  LOVE is the Origin of Everything.  Everything,  All That Is is Energy, which is Love when spinning at Full Speed, which is hate when the spin is low rate… So, PICK UP THE PACE!  Eliminate Hate, Rise Above and JUST BE LOVE which is what You Are!

So, you see judgement is not only unproductive it is quite meaningless in the big scheme of things and an impediment in the small schemes.

( Please note:  seeing the Truth for what it is and passing judgement are often misconstrued and mistaken for one another)

To focus on any energy that is not under your control is to give your energy to it and away from yourself.  Whatever this person, place or thing may be I hope it’s worth it because there will then be less energy to be used for the things and the person that you actually can control.

At your Highest vibration You Are Love~                                                                                                                                                                                        You Are Peace moving at so fast a rate that You Are Still:  Energy at its Most Supreme Rate~                                                                                 You Are Love with no need to judge!

How to to Activate Change:

July 15th, 2011 by Lindsay

What the outstanding person does, others will try to do.

The standards such people create will be followed by the whole world.

~The Bhagavad Gita  Ch. 3 Selfless Service verse 21

Darn near every time I talk about working to make the world a better place there is always someone there to chime in only to say:   that things just are the way they are there is nothing we can do to change them; that the tasks required to ignite change are too overwhelming or will take too long  or that people don’t care and they won’t change.    I hate to sound like a know it all but ALL of these things are wrong.  As a matter of fact Change is one of the few constants that we have.  There is no way to get away from it.  Furthermore, it is by navigating through changes that we are given the opportunity to grow, evolving ourselves into stronger, more versatille, more concious Beings.  Being the accomplished debater that I like to think I am, I quickly refute the silly comments and point out that the attitude of the comment being made is apathetic and thereby the speaker is the part of the problem.  This attitude of hopelessness is Apathy at its stongest.  When one feels too weak, tired or discouraged to care they often give up.  Many people have given up on the idea we can reverse the damage that we have done to our Earth and to our Society in order to Create a better world for ourselves and those who will live after us.  We can move forward and it does not require rocket science, lighting fires under bums, fighting wars,  having a decent credit score or even a high school diploma.  We simply need to RAISE OUR STANDARDS.  When we stop settling for merely what gets us by, what we are accustomed to or what every one else is doing and instead do what we know is truly best for our welbeing and peace of mind,  inevitably we also improve the lives of those around us.  We become happier healthier people with more to offer the world which gives us a greater sense of purpose.  If each of us makes an effort to raise our personal standards it will most certainly translate to a higher societal standard.  Furthermore, don’t you deserve the best?

Liberating Wisdom for Your Soul

July 12th, 2011 by Lindsay

After an intense shift in conciousness following several years of dedicated meditation, I finally reached a state of being in which I no longer felt separate.  There was no longer a need to hide who I was or what I was or what I believed my purpose to be.  In a moment I realized my connection to abosolutely everything.  I was in Union with everything:  I had finally achieved the state of Yoga I had been seeking since the moment I was born. I believe that it is the state of being that we are all have always been innately seeking.  Also, in that moment was the realization that I had to change the way I exisited.  As I sought for guidance, I came upon a 100 day calendar by Julie Redstone called The Calendar of Awakening.  So, each day for 100 days I recieved a beautiful piece of her wisdom.  Today I would like to share with you day #76:  “Seek to let go of all you have held onto.  When you can let go of all definitions, God will define you.  This is the path to freedom.”

I couldn’t agree more:

“Your Soul strives for expression, conveying it’s wishes to your waiting Heart.  Let your hearts deepest joy guide your way.  It is why you are here.  It is the lodestar you are meant to follow.”

Now, let’s build our Strength and Follow Our Lodestars!
